The Bucas Freedom dog rugs offer top protection from the elements. Made from a rip-stop fabric and lined with a breathable nylon, these stylish rugs feature safety reflective strips, allowing your dog to be spotted easily, and a secure belly protector to help prevent the underside getting scratched by brambles or splattered in mud. There is a hole at the neck to get access to the collar to attach a leash and the coat reaches right up the dog’s neck for additional protection. It is simply pulled over the head and the belly straps reach around the Velcro together on the dog’s back.

There are two weights to choose from a 50g sheet or a 300g padded coat which gives additional warmth. They come in a huge variety of sizes from miniature terriers to large working dogs.

The Bucas Freedom Range offers great value for money without compromising on quality, so you can be kind to your dog and your pocket both at the same time.

Colours: Petrol, Berry and Navy

Sizes: 12”-26”, (35-65cm) and weights 50g and 300g

Welsh Section B pony Spice was struggling with a host of health conditions when she was rescued by the team at Leeds based charity, Hope Pastures.
Recently they rescued five ponies and two donkeys at high risk of laminitis and a sixth pony, Spice who was already showing signs of the condition.
When the adorable Spice arrived, the team undertook a cushings test for her and visits from the veterinary team and remedial farrier were also organised.
Said Sanctuary Manager, Leonnie Martin: “The consultations showed that Spice has pedal bone rotation and some sinking with the remedial farriery undertaken to try and help the situation.
“We also started her on LaminAid and PodoSens from Cavalor, a blend of several essential oils and a therapeutic hoof oil.

Sprenger introduces its latest invention

  •

Sprenger has launched a brand new bit range – the novocontact.

The German bit manufacturer's latest invention showcases a unique oval shape design which widens the contact area of the mouthpiece on the horse's tongue, without putting pressure on the palate.

When the rider keeps a steady contact, the flat part of the mouthpiece lies sensitively on the horse's tongue. As the rider gives a rein aid the mouthpiece turns forward meaning the contact surface gets narrower, ensuring a more precise and effective communication. When giving the reins, the mouthpiece turns back to its soft and smooth position with the flat part lying delicately on the tongue.

Tests have shown that the single jointed novocontact bits are highly recommended for horses that do not take the contact confidently or have sensitive mouths. The double jointed novocontact bits are also ideal to use on horses that occasionally tend to pull against the hand, but are too sensitive to be ridden with stronger bits.

Novocontact bits are based on the latest scientific research. They are available as loose ring snaffles, eggbuts or Pelhams in single and double jointed versions, with RRPs from £95.
